I’m Dennis Tennant, photographer, photo editor, computer geek, Mac lover, scale modeler…gamer. I hope my occasional postings will help you take your photography/modeling/gaming to another level…or at least make things easier for you!
I’ve been a photographer since the days of film and wet darkrooms. I converted to digital relatively late in the game (a Nikon D-1 was my first digital camera) and haven’t looked back since. I work as a photo editor at a mid-sized daily newspaper in Virginia. I’ve done that gig for the last 10 years or so. I was a staff photographer for 12 years before that.
I have an eclectic eye and shoot a wide variety of subjects. I also do a bit of freelance work for corporations, magazines and individuals. Hire me.
My scale modeling has received national honors and I’m a frequent reviewer on the International Plastic Modelers Society (IPMS) website. While I primarily build WWII armor subjects, anything that strikes my fancy is game. Again, I’m available for freelance or commission work.
My gaming experiences used to be limited to games played on a PC computer. I’ve been an active gamer since the early days of the internet. I was a member of the Genie/AirWarriors flight sim community for years and flew with 94th Composite Group (AKA the Flying Squirrels) under screen name “Shooter” …paying as much as $2.50/hour for the privilege! After buying a Mac in 2007 to do my imaging and video work, I moved to the “dark side” and purchased an X-box 360 gaming console for gaming. Now I play multiplayer, first-person shooters (currently Call of Duty 4) on Xbox live whenever I have spare time. Not a daily player, I suck accordingly!
